When she graduated in 1992 Amanda Bossard began her studies in marine biology in Anchorage at Alaska Pacific University. Bossard launched her profession as a commercial fish worker in 1999. Bossard began working with the ship F/V Sunset an a65' halibut-schooner which was converted into a Salmon tender, for Murat Aritan. She was employed in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard and Aritan are married now and have joined forces in claiming their share of their business. They are both proponents conservation of sustainable, renewable seafood resources. Otolith is directly wholesale distribution of seafood founded within Philadelphia in 2007, by a now-mother of two kids, Bella age 3 and Andre aged 1. In 2007, Bossard, a mother of two children Bella, age 3, and Andre 1, and returning to Philadelphia from her native Canada opened otolith as a direct market wholesale seafood distributor. In July 2016, Bossard along with her daughter Isabella age 12 and Andre age 10 Andre age 10 are back in Southeast Alaska annually each summer for deckhand work throughout the harvest of wild salmon in the summer. They use hooks and line to collect their fish, and then join Aritan to sell to local processors for a period of two months. They then continue to grow their direct seafood sales via Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard works as an Anchor/MMJ in News 12 Brooklyn and News 12 Bronx.
